COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Shop With a Cop

The police department participates annually in the Shop With a Cop program in conjunction with Wal Mart.  Officers from surrounding agencies accompany children from needy families while they purchase Christmas presents for themselves or others on an expense account provided by Wal Mart.

Career Shadow Day

Selected students from the Eureka Springs High School who are considering a career in law enforcement get to ride with patrol officers and detectives throughout the day.

East Lab

The students at EAST Lab at the Eureka Springs High School worked for an entire year to design and provide software to the dispatch center.  The software is designed to make it easier and faster for the 911 dispatcher to locate the person in need and send the appropriate help to them.

The Eureka Springs Police Department participates in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.  The Torch Run is an actual running event in which officers and athletes run the “Flame of Hope” to the Opening Ceremonies of local Special Olympics competitions.

Angel Tree

The Eureka Springs Police Department offers its space within the building for the organization and distribution of the local "Angel Tree" present drive during Christmas.

Annual Food Drives

The Eureka Springs Police Department collects, organizes and distributes food during the holidays to needy families within our area.  Citizens receive a healthy meal with which to celebrate the season with their families.
